COMMON FACTORING

WHAT IS COMMON FACTORING?

  • The factor of a number that divides evenly into the other number

  • To check that you have factored corectly, you can expand your answer and if your answer is the same as the equation you started of with, it means you factored correctly

 

STEPS:

  1. Factor out GCF (numbers)

  2. Factor out variables (If possible)

  3. Take each expression and divide it with what you facotored out
